She still nonetheless joined Takeru's attempts to befriend her. The mission does eventually come to a success but Ouka starts to complete assignments on their own and Ikaruga is the first one to accept the fact that Ouka was unapproachable. Ikaruga drives the team to their location while providing intel and calms Takeru down from his violent outbreaks. Ikaruga hacked into another platoon's database to pull up an assignment for her two platoon members to attempt to complete before Sougetsu bursts into the room to introduce them to Ouka Ootori, their new platoon member. After graduation, she and Takeru were placed into the 35th Test Platoon where they met Usagi Saionji. Her intelligence made her a valuable asset in the Inquisition and she was scouted out to enter the Reginn branch but she refused the offer, stating that she wanted to live out her youthful school life before entering her profession. She eventually stumbled into the Anti-Magic Academy where she enrolled into its middle school where she took interest in the problem child, Takeru Kusanagi, as well as meeting Kyouya Kirigaya. Isuka refused while the elf was nowhere to be found, and Ikaruga was forced to leave alone. Predicting her possible eviction or worse, Ikaruga retrieved the Lost Matrix that was key to restoring the elves and planned to leave with both Isuka and the elf-infant. Wanting to feel similar to a mother and wanting to taste the outside world, Ikaruga intentionally botched an elf resurrection trial where a mana-less wood elf was the end product. Isuka advised against it while Ikaruga continued to read and developed an interest in what was outside of her normal confines. On a fateful day, a test subject was found with a book and Ikaruga began reading it. While they were born in an unknown lab, they were transferred to the 5th Laboratory. For most of her life, Ikaruga and Isuka developed and experimented upon countless subjects while never having any interest in the outside world. Ikaruga was created along with her sister, Isuka in an Alchemist facility where they were the next "Design Children", genetically engineered children to have minds geared toward science and technology. Takeru and Usagi are the usual victims of her advancements. Ikaruga's main quirk however manifests through her blatant sexual remarks and she revels at the chance to harass and remark on her teammate's bodies. She notably has the most "maternal" instincts on the team and looks out for the others as much as Takeru does. Similar to how she used to be, Ikaruga still mostly sticks to the sidelines during her teammate's banters to pursue her own work and only chimes in when there was a fight that needed to be broken up or her expertise was needed. She states that she doesn't care for normal people and only took interest in the ones who "stick out. She speaks with a knowledgeable yet relaxed tone but she has a tough time, rather, she rarely cares to add any honorifics or speak in a tone that would be considered respectful. Ikaruga is an extremely laid-back individual with habits that resemble a shut in. When she is in her elf form, she has white hair and grayish skin, with pointed ears. Ikaruga is able to temporarily change herself into a mythical dark elf. She is also constantly seen with mint candy in her mouth.ĭue to the embedded dark elf cell using the Lost Matrix. While she wears the academy's skirt and shirt, she replaces the green jacket with her white lab-coat. Her body is maturely grown and she is the tallest female member of the platoon. Her long hair is however constantly unkempt, most likely because she rarely sleeps. Ikaruga is a young beautiful girl with long brown hair which is waist-length and has deep purple eyes. She was formerly affiliated with the Alchemists as she was a product of the Suginami Design Children Project. Ikaruga Suginami (杉並 斑鳩 Suginami Ikaruga) is the technological expert of the 35th Platoon and Takeru's childhood friend.
